The solution is to uninstall ALL InterVideo programs on your computer. It is actually a Movie Maker issue (as documented here - see the qedit.dll section), not a SpiceFX problem, due to the way Intervideo registers so many effects in Microsoft's DirectShow, which Movie Maker also uses.
